Frequently asked questions.

tickets

Can i use my ticket at any concert?

Of course! No matter what night you purchased your ticket for, you’re welcome to come see us ring at any concert in that season.

Where can i get tickets?

You’ll get the best price if you purchase tickets online. Tickets will also be available at the door 30 minutes before the concert begins.

Can i come for free?

Our volunteers at concerts get to come for free! If you are interested in volunteering, we have opportunities in taking tickets, and other needs. Please email info@madisonhandbells.org to find out more.

HANDBELL RINGING

How heavy is that silver bell?

Good question– at the end of our concerts we invite audience members to come and try their hand at ringing any of our bells, so be sure to come up and find out for yourself!

what does your music look like?

If you’ve ever seen piano sheet music, it looks like that. We’re all looking off of the same music and are watching for our own notes.

what are the gray ones?

In addition to handbells, we also own a full set of handchimes! Those include the very large gray chimes that you see on a stand. They have a different tone to them that beautifully complement our handbells.

OTHER

WHAT experience do i need to join mach?

This is an advanced choir– at our audition, we’ll expect you to demonstrate mastery of most handbell techniques, be familiar with handbell markings, and be able to play artistically and musically at different positions.

How can I Join Mach?

You can inquire about setting up an audition by emailing info@madisonhandbells.org. Please first read the Ringer Expectations which details our rehearsal commitments and other expectations of our ringers.

Can my choir learn from yours?

Absolutely! Periodically we offer workshops which will be listed on our homepage. If one isn’t offered that suits your needs, please email info@madisonhandbells.org.

Can YOU COME PLAY FOR MY EVENT?

We love to serve the community and would welcome inquiries for our choir to come play whether as a full choir or as a smaller ensemble. Contact us below.
